Savoury Asian Style Pancakes with Hot Sauce

July 10, 2016 By Jittery Cook 4 Comments

Spicy Garlicky Sesame Tofu Dinner Bowl

June 23, 2016 By Jittery Cook 6 Comments

Spicy Garlicky Sesame Tofu Dinner Bowl was inspired by Jeanette’s Warm…

BBQ Salmon – Blackcurrant Ginger Sauce

June 17, 2016 By Jittery Cook 4 Comments

Sugar, sugar, sugar! I try really hard to stay clear of sugar and sugary treats — and usually, I’m successful. But this is the time of year to think about picking blackcurrants and making simple blackcurrant freezer jam and blackcurrant vodka, which need a little sugar.  On the good side, you only need a little bit to taunt your senses. The Batch cookbook,…

Giardiniera – A Center Stage Condiment

Does the prospect of winning excite you? What do you think of the Donald telling Americans that he’s going to make them win so much they’ll tire of winning?  Check out his shenanigans. And speaking of winning, I’m so excited. I recently won a draw! I got a brand spanking new cookbook called Batch, and it’s opening my…

Black Beluga Lentil Salad & Tzatziki

May 23, 2016 By Jittery Cook 5 Comments

The film Forever Young  visits two of the world’s  Blue Zones, places on the planet where people live super long lives: Okinawa, Japan and Sardinia, Italy.  And what do all Blue Zoners have in common? They all rely on legumes for protein — beans, peas, lentils, etc.— says my buddy Harriet Sugar Miller, quoting the author of two Blue Zone books. I’ve been…

Spinach Feta Dip – Happy Cinco de Mayo 2017!

May 6, 2016 By Jittery Cook 4 Comments

Every time I’m late for an annual event, I tell myself that I’m 364 days early to begin celebrating for the following year. And then I realize — Why limit celebrations to just one day? Why not celebrate Cinco de Mayo every day? Thanks to Que Pasa organic chips and salsa, you could be the lucky winner…
