Hi! I’m Holly. A Montrealer, Quebecer, globe-trotter, yogaholic, bookworm… A person trying to keep track of recipes that work so that they join her repertoire. A mother/aunty trying to pass on some cooking tips to her far-flung offspring/nieces and nephews. A person who cares about eating healthy. A food obsessed person, from a food obsessed family eager to expand her food related horizons. A sharer of thoughts and feelings. A blogger who feels the joy every time someone appreciates her jittery efforts. And, now that I’m a finally a grandmother I’m ready to experiment with jittery baby food recipes.
Meet the family…
My wonderful stepson and his charming wife.
What can you say about a daughter who lives her dreams and dreams huge, making the world her oyster? This one changed my life from the moment she was born and makes me so proud for who she is and all she does.
My awesome stepdaughter. Words cannot express…
Our gourmet son. My best taste tester.
There are times when cooking is the last thing on my mind.
It’s wonderful to be on vacation.
I’m always asking for directions.
My husband loves to get me out of the kitchen!
wonderful stuff Holly! Keep inspiring us!
Thank you! I will try.
Holly..thank you for this wonderful recipe. Will add it to my collection of healthy eating. Just watched a wonderful documentary called ” Knives over Forks”…waiting for my son “Jason” to get home tonight to watch it again with him. His dream is to become a medical doctor but with a twist (and I hope he likes this twist)
Happy healthy cooking! Keep in touch!
Great to hear from you. Check out the other 24 recipes on my new blog. I’m getting a big kick out of sharing recipes and sharing in general. I’m going to check out that documentary you mentioned. All the best, Holly

The blog is great — the design, the recipes, the photography and the commentary. Onward to becoming known by your first name.
I am adding it to my menu bar.
Jittery or Holly? I think they are both still available. Thanks! And thanks for subscribing.
Holly I love the description of you under who is “jittery cook” ? It is a perfect description of who you are……and that’s a good thing.
Stay jittery, and enjoy what you are doing. It is great.

The baked pasta looks yummy…..If we weren’t so busy cooking soups we’d be trying it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have you bought and tasted ChefAndy Soup yet?? Will be looking forward to hearing what you think!! xoxox Layne
Bought and tasted and liked. Read all about it in my next post…coming soon.
Hi Holly,
I’m trying to track down your zuccini fries – if I could spell, it might help -tks Celine
In Vino Veritas, you will find the fried zucchini recipe. I went to Trattoria Trestevere recently and sampled them to verify if they really are as delicious as I remembered. OMG. They are worth the trip there. The Salad Fantasia was amazing too. I didn’t have the nerve to order the manicotti, but I wish I had. It is a tad rich.
I guess I forgot my email address – here it is Celine
Lovely blog Holly!
Thanks! It’s coming along and I’m learning as I go. Just went to a 2 hr spice class at Jean Talon Market and came home with numerous spices I’ve never used before. I’ll be busy figuring it out…passing on whatever I like.
Thanks for inviting me to Jittery Cook. I love the way you describe yourself. Now I have to be able to find all these great recipes.
Regards,
Dorothy
Love your description of the Jittery Cook, but you forgot wonderful, devoted friend!

Hi Holly,
Your Mum told my Mum about your blog so here I am. I thought I knew everything about the Botner Food clan until now. The recipes look delicious ( I plan to try some) and your comments about your family members bring back many wonderful memories.

So glad you’ve visited Jittery Cook! I have such fond memories too! My best to all your family.
What a hot cook you are
No one is more surprised than I am. Do you think it could be a poltergeist?
I too dabble in the culinary arts, but it’s not art when I do it. Like your blog.
Kenton
Since I started receiving your blogs, I no longer hate my stove and oven, especially with the oooo’s and aaaaah’s I get.
Thanks to you Holly.
Dorothy

Dear Holly, your business card caught my eye in Votre Sante this week. Lovely blog you’re creating here. Thank you!
So glad you told me. A Votre Sante is a great health food store. My very first Jittery Cook post included their miso, which I had never used before.
I leave my cards in a few choice spots but this is the first time I’ve heard back from anyone. Glad you like the site. Hope you subscribe. There are 96 posts so far. In 3 weeks I’ll be in the triple digits!
We have nominated you for a Versatile Blogger Award because we think your blog is pretty awesome!
http://omnomalicious.wordpress.com/2012/04/18/versatile-blogger-award/
Thanks, likewise! I have linked to you in an upcoming blog…my 100th post, I think, as I was inspired by one of your chicken recipes. Connecting with you guys and other like minded bloggers has made this experience oh so much more rewarding.
That’s wonderful, thank you.
Bonjour Holly! Yay, I am not alone in a world where there are endless untested recipes being published. I envy that you live in the best city in Canada — for shopping, food and culture.
Subscribed to both blogs and happy cooking!
Regards,
Cynnie, Edmonton
Hi Holly, I’d like to send you an email outlining an idea for upcoming blog posts including providing a prize pack for you and one of your readers. Could you kindly contact me?
Many thanks in advance,
Allyson
Hi Holly – I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve just nominated your blog for a “Blog of the Year 2012” award. Just follow this link for details: http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/
Mind? I’m honoured! It has been quite the trip – my first whole year of blogging. I still remember worrying that each post was my last as I’d never come up with another idea. You are a doll! Grazie tanto Tom!!!
Holly – It was my pleasure. I’ve only been blogging since late July, so when I was awarded the rank of “Brigadier” you can imagine how pleased I was. Continue the good work and don’t over boil the water or burn the toast. Abientot!
You don’t look old enough to be an empty nester!! I understand the pangs of wanting to become a grandmother. I too, can not wait for that wonderful day!
Your blog is lovely!
Thanks! Ok, my friend airbrushed a wrinkle or two.

âWho is the Jittery Cook? « jittery cookâ ended up
being a wonderful blog post. If it included more images it
would definitely be quite possibly more effective. Regards -Burton
I agree with you and I was just thinking the same thing. I am going to either find some existing photos or take some new ones asap. Thanks for the feedback Burton! Much appreciated.
You have one good looking family!

I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your website. It’s a very easy on the eyes
which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit more often.
Did you hire out a developer to create your theme? Fantastic work!
My own design and layout using the themes provided by WordPress. Thanks for liking!!

Thanks Dr MO! It’s been an amazing journey. I never imagined having this kind of connection with so many people.
